The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is an enormeous amount of trash located rougly between Asia and America. It is like a big island. This marine mass of plastic extends over 1.400.000 km2, nearly triple that Spain.
Plastic is not biodegradable which means that it is not able to descompose naturally, just breaking into timier and timier pieces, called microplastics. Millions of fishes eat those microplastics.
What kind of things could we find there? Mainly household waste like plastic bags, plastic bottles, syringes, computers and all you can imagine.
Watching the video, you are going to learn how all these plastics arrive there and why it is possible.
I hope you think twice when you do not recycle.
