Hi everyone,

I would like to share with you this video of Ken Robinson. He is one of the most prominent thinkers in the field of education. I show this video to my students to talk about different subjects such as divergent versus convergent thinking, creativity and different types of intelligence. Some of the most interesting ideas are the following: every country is reforming education for both reasons, economic and cultural. Second, the current system education was conceived in the intellectual culture of Enlightenment and was modeled on the interests of industrialization. Third, there is no epidemic of ADHD. Finally, the children are living in the most stimulating period of the history of earth.

What is your opinion about these questions?

Hi guys!

I want to share this short video with you because something happened to me with it few days ago. I'm helping a little girl in my neighborhood to improve her English and I showed her this video to do some activities. At the end we were practicing some speaking and she told me some things that made me think over.

The first thing she told was that she was really happy because the German boy had become his friend. He was helping the Syrian boy with the language and with the school. After that, I asked her opinion about the relationship between the two boys and about the way the German one was treating the Syrian one. She told me that it was good because if there is a new student, he has to be helped by everyone in the class. This boy had suffered travelling from so far so he needed support and love.

It can be said that this opinion is just what children are been taught at primary school, but look at the two boys then. They are friends; they are real friends because children act with no filters. When a child is in kindergarten and there is a kid he or she doesn't like, that kid will never take his or her toys. No way! However, if the kid is likely to become his or her friend, the child will share. So the German boy is not only his friend even they are really different, but also he admires the Syrian child in some way because of his long travel, because he is a good reader…

Shouldn't adults think like children sometimes?

Hi everybody,

As it is my turn to post a link in the Have to say! activity, I would like to share with you one video that uses some of my favorite topics: statistics and psychology, to briefly explain our irrational decisions.

The trainer is Sara Garofalo, and it is also one of the TED talks. It is easily to follow and understandable for everybody.

You may wonder, what is the role of stats on our decisions? In the video it is explained that the most likely positive result for us, usually mismatch with our immediate decision; specially in terms of economics. We are both rational and instinctive being and, although our mind would think the opposite, the outcome of decisions we make following our gut may be not the same than the one using our math knowledge.

Yesterday, I went to eat lunch with my sister and my nephews. After all the afternoon playing with them, I was exhausted. I remembered this video I wanted to share it with you.

If you don't know Louis C.K, He is one of the best stand up comedian in the US. He also directs, produces, writes and stars TV shows and movies. If you like this video, there are a lot of his monologs on youtube.

Hi guys!!
As I am the first student posting my contribution on the activity: Have to say!, I wanted to share a video, which is easier and funnier to follow.
It is a Tim Urban talk's for TED, an event where  the world's leading thinkers gather to find inspiration.
I recomend you to watch the video and think about it. Because, how many times do you delay the things you have to do until the last minute? Even more, how many times do you spend the time you were supossed to do something, loosing that time on the internet or other?
This is called procastinate and I consider myself a procastinator. On this video you will understand how a procastinator mind works in a really easy and funny way!!
